CYGAM ENERGY INC. ANNOUNCES CORPORATE APPOINTMENTS


CYGAM ENERGY INC. (TSX Venture Exchange: CYG)

Calgary, Alberta, March 6, 2006. The Board of Directors of Cygam Energy Inc. ("Cygam" or "the Corporation") is pleased to announce the following appointments:

Mrs. Neli Rigo, the widow of Dr. Fabrizio Rigo and the major shareholder of Cygam, has been appointed to the Board of Directors and the newly created position of Chairman of the Board. Mrs. Rigo is a businesswoman with many years of investment experience including 20 years as a Director of Farmkey Investment Limited, a private investment company controlled by the Rigo family, and 10 years as a director of Rigo Oil Company Limited, previously a private company and now a wholly owned subsidiary of Cygam.

Mr. Dario Sodero has been appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Cygam. Mr. Sodero was previously the Executive Vice President of the Corporation.

Mr. Giuseppe Rigo, the eldest son of Dr. Fabrizio Rigo, has been appointed Vice President International Exploration of Cygam. Mr. Rigo was also appointed President of Rigo Oil Company Limited and Vega Oil S.p.A., the two wholly owned subsidiaries of the Corporation. Mr. Rigo previously served as the Vice President of Vega Oil S.p.A. Mr. Rigo has a degree in Geological Sciences from the University of Rome, Italy, and has 24 years of professional experience in oil and gas exploration. He was involved in the evaluation of sedimentary basins and permit applications in Italy with Italmin Petroli S.p.A. from 1982 to 1984. He worked in the United States for Seaxe Energy Corporation from 1985 to 1986 supervising geological and drilling operations for that company and returned to Italy in 1987 to continue work with Italmin Petroli. From 1988 to 1989, he worked as a consulting geologist for Italeco S.p.A. and from 1990 to 1993 he was the exploration geologist for Lasmo International Ltd., a British company. From 1994 to 1998 he was the Operations Co-ordinator for Lasmo Mineraria S.p.A., managing geological operations and providing liaison with the Ministry of Industry and the Ministry of the Environment. In 1999 he founded Riogeo Petroleum, a consulting firm, to assist foreign oil companies operating in Italy and in the Mediterranean basin. During this period, he acted as the Italian Manager for Grove Energy Ltd., a Canadian oil company listed on the TSX Venture Exchange and on the London AIM Exchange.

Cygam is an exploration company with producing oil and gas properties in Canada and extensive international exploration concessions. The main focus of the Corporation will be the acquisition of international exploration permits, primarily in Italy, Tunisia and the Mediterranean basin. Cygam currently holds various interests in five exploratory concessions in Italy and four exploratory concessions in Tunisia encompassing approximately 4 million gross acres (approximately 3 million net acres). Extensive seismic data from Tunisia and Italy is currently being re-interpreted and re-processed in Calgary in order to finalize drilling locations.
